Why You Must Block Your SIM Immediately

Carrier Blocking Instructions

🟢 SAFARICOM: BLOCK LINE & M-PESA
  1. Call 100 from another Safaricom number, or call 0722 000 100 from any network.
  2. For business/post-paid lines, call 200 or 0722 000 200.
  3. Provide the customer agent with your full name and National ID number to verify ownership.
  4. Request the agent to **block the SIM card and freeze your M-Pesa account**.
  5. Alternatively, visit any Safaricom Shop with your original ID for an instant line replacement (SIM Swap).
🔴 AIRTEL: BLOCK LINE & AIRTEL MONEY
  1. Call 100 from another Airtel line, or call 0733 100 100 from any network.
  2. Provide your registered ID number, name, and answer the security questions (e.g., recent transactions or top-ups).
  3. Ask the customer support representative to deactivate the line and lock Airtel Money.
  4. Visit the nearest Airtel Shop with your original ID card to swap your SIM.
🔵 TELKOM: BLOCK LINE & T-KASH
  1. Call 100 from another Telkom line, or call 020 222 1100 from any network.
  2. Give the support representative your personal details and ID number.
  3. Instruct them to block the SIM card and T-Kash account.
  4. Visit a Telkom shop to secure your replacement SIM card.

What is Needed for Line Replacement?

When visiting a carrier outlet for a SIM swap, ensure you carry:

  • Your **Original National ID Card** (or Passport). Photocopies or digital copies on phones are usually not accepted.
  • Around KES 50 - 100 for the SIM card replacement fee.
  • Be prepared to list your 3 most frequently called numbers or details about your last M-Pesa transaction for authentication.
